WELCOME EVERYONE
My name is Harry Link. I have been a resident of East Haddam since 1996. Lee and Lyn May were my neighbors for 12 of those years. Please join me in honoring a great teacher of how to learn life's lessons through gardening. Lee said that "All of life's lessons grow in the garden; birth, nurturing, growth, love, passion, obsession, joy, pain, heartbreak, and finally death". Lee saw the world thru a peaceful pair of eyes and tried to teach others to do the same. Don't get me wrong, he had a devilish side when it came to dealing with critters.
About
The Lee May memorial garden will be constructed at the East Haddam senior center. It will be both an inspirational and educational garden. I will try my hardest to mimic Lee's style while incorporating a functional Rain garden and a pollinating garden to better the environmental impact.
Project
After Lee's passing on Dec. 3, 2014, I tried to think of what I could do to honor my friend. I decided that a public garden would be the best idea so that everyone could enjoy his memory forever. The ground breaking ceremony was a huge success at the senior center on May 30th and I think we even surprised Lyn. Thank you to everyone who showed up.
